YOUNG AUDIENCES'S KICKSTARTER PROJECT FOR NATIONAL CITY YOUTH THEATRE ENSEMBLE WAS FUNDED!
WE MET AND EXCEEDED OUR GOAL OF $5,000!!
Our most humble thanks to the many angels who contributed to help us reach our goal, and a very special thank you to a certain someone who went above and beyond. There's still time to donate!
With your pledged support, we will seek out thirty 4-6th grade students from National School District who "shine" in their art classes, but not necessarily in their everyday school curriculum. We will include five mentor high school students from the local high school to create a Youth Theatre Ensemble. Through rigorous theatre/acting instruction, community building activities, and a theatre production, we can positively impact the children of National City.
What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is the world's largest funding platform for creative projects. Every week, tens of thousands of amazing people pledge millions of dollars to projects from the worlds of music, film, art, technology, design, food, publishing and other creative fields.
Kickstarter believes that a good idea, communicated well, can spread fast and wide; and that a large group of people can be a tremendous source of money and encouragement.
Kickstarter is powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands.

Young Audiences honors Shary Folkman as 2010 Volunteer of the Year. For the last two years Shary has volunteered four to five hours of her time every Wednesday to help in the office. From data entry to research, from creating e-blasts to editing formal documents, Shary's services have been invaluable to the Young Audiences' Staff. We truly appreciate her.
* The annual Volunteer of the Year Award is named in memory of Carol Alderson Smith who over many years of service to Young Audiences illustrated the personification of the ideal volunteer. |
