LIVY DELAFIELD MUSIC FUND 50% UNDERWRITING
Maturin Livingston (Livy) Delafield (1956-1999) performed on guitar, hammered dulcimer, electric keyboards and synthesizer at various events in the San Diego area. A computer programmer, Livy grew up in New Jersey and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Hofstra University. He loved the response of children to his music and enjoyed teaching several young people. Although confined to a wheel chair with a severe bone disorder, he drove a specially equipped van to play at concerts, coffee houses, benefits, weddings and other events.
Music programs by the following artists will be underwritten up to 50% by the Fund and schools in Ramona and Julian can receive up to 60% underwriting for:
- Arbol Azul
- Brass Trinity
- Grassology
- Classic Brass Quintet
- The String Family
- Rob Thorsen Jazz Quartet
- Korean Classical Music & Dance
- Ed Reeves, Percussionist
The Livy Delafield Music Fund is supported partially through a gift by Barbara Delafield of Princeton, NJ, and by proceeds of a memorial concert at which Livy's musician friends played.
