COMMUNITY BUILDING AT THE KROC CENTER

FREE FAMILY ARTS & LITERACY CONNECTION
A partnership between The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center and Young Audiences presents The Family Arts and Literacy Connection: Inspiring the Reluctant Reader. These free evening programs foster a cooperative spirit and enables parents and children to create and learn together–for free! Funded by the Ellen Browning Scripps Foundation, each evening has a specific social science theme and includes a 30-minute performance , a 50-minute “hands-on” activity, and at the end of the evening each family receives a new book.
When/Where:
Thursdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m.

November 8 – Native American Heritage Celebration
January 10 – An Evening in Africa
February 7 – Brazilian Carnaval
March 13 – Youth Arts Month
May 15 – Literacy Comes Alive
OUR GOALS: enhance intergenerational and cross-cultural understanding, identify and showcase neighborhood cultural leaders, enrich and inspire participants to engage actively in the visual and performing arts.
