COMMUNITY BUILDING AT THE KROC CENTER

FREE FAMILY ARTS & LITERACY CONNECTION
A partnership between The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center and Young Audiences presents The Family Arts and Literacy Connection: Inspiring the Reluctant Reader. These free evening programs foster a cooperative spirit and enables parents and children to create and learn together–for free! With major funding by the TSA Women's Auxillary, First Book, the French Masserini Trust, the San Diego City Schools Community Service Association and Target, each evening has a specific social science theme and includes a 30-minute performance , a 50-minute “hands-on” activity, and at the end of the evening each family receives a new book.

OUR GOALS: enhance intergenerational and cross-cultural understanding, identify and showcase neighborhood cultural leaders, enrich and inspire participants to engage actively in the visual and performing arts.
