Field Trip Programs
Bring your class, child, or school on a journey to a professional theatre or special location to experience one of the following Young Audiences programs in collaboration with: San Diego Ballet and Culture Shock Dance, Asian Story Theater, Fern Street Circus, Classics for Kids, and Mo'olelo Performance Company.
Fern Street Circus
“The Mayor’s Feelin’ Good Campaign!”
For the first time the Mayor of Fern Street faces a real opponent, Mr. Moneybags. With two wily political consultants advising him, Moneybags could win the campaign and become the Mayor of Fern Street. There's no mudslinging, but plenty of juggling, clowning, trapeze and other feats of circus skills by colorfully costumed acrobats, aerialists, and clowns to delight student audiences.
Performance dates are Wednesday-Friday, May 21, 22 and 23. Show times are at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. outdoor in Balboa Park at Park Blvd and Presidents Way. Tickets are $5.50 per student. Please contact Outreach Coordinator, Natasha Nace, for information and reservations at 619/282-7599 ext. 112.
Created in San Diego in 1990, Fern Street Circus was conceived along the lines of other single ring circuses such as Circus Flora, the Pickle Family Circus and Cirque du Soleil. It has developed a delightful style in which people rather than animals hold the audiences’ attention. These school-day performances by Fern Street Circus are appropriate for all students, grades K-12.
