YASD-Carrie Anne Fipps
Memorial Award

Presented in memory of a founding City Moves! dance member, the Carrie Anne Fipps Memorial Award is given to recognize an outstanding student who exemplifies the talent, passion, dedication, focus, leadership and inspiration which marked the award’s namesake.

Carrie Anne Fipps was a founding member of City Moves!, participating in The Terrible Tale of Ringmaster Twigg in 1991. She continued to perform and was active in the organization until her untimely death in 1996 at the age of fifteen.

Each Young Audiences dance teaching artist can nominate a candidate from among their students for the award. Members of Carrie’s family, if available, help to select the winner.
