Workshop Programs
Student Workshops
Give children the opportunity to experience the creative process by working closely with an artist in a classroom setting. Students receive hands-on instruction in the arts. In general, workshops are 45 minutes to one hour in length, with an artist-to-student ratio of 1 to 30, and may be scheduled in conjunction with an assembly program.
Things to consider when scheduling a Student Workshop:
- Workshop size is limited to 30 students
- One credentialed teacher must be present and in the room
- Workshop length is approximately 50 minutes long
- Workshop fees are $95 per artist, additional sessions are $55 per artist
Professional Development Workshops
An invaluable complement to residencies, Professional Development Workshops provides the basis for improving student achievement in the arts and academic subjects. YASD offers a variety of these workshops for teachers.
Things to consider when scheduling a Professional Development Workshop
- Maximum number of participants per session is 20
- Fees are $370 for two hours.
- C.E. credits may be available.
MASTER CLASSES
Young Audiences Of San Diego master classes are workshops for advanced students of a particular art form. Master Classes can focus on techniques or on career choices. Master classes by YASD's professional musicians for school instrumental music programs are a big plus.

Family Arts Night
A great way to involve parents and students at school, Family Arts Night Programs consist of a 30-minute performance by a Young Audiences ensemble or solo artist and a related 50-minute hands-on workshop in dance, visual art, singing, or another art form.
This program can be booked as a series of evening events, or a one-time event to bring families together at your school. |
