Support YASD through Internship
Arts Administration Internship:
Work with YASD Staff in marketing, PR, technology, arts advocacy, research and more.
Qualifications: Ideal candidates are passionate about arts education are self-motivated, organized, and can see a task through to completion.
Teaching Internship:
Work with a Mentor Teaching Artist in your art discipline. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a Master Teaching Artist in the classroom, as well as to learn how to design and implement creative lesson plans designed using the California State Arts Standards.
Qualifications: Ideal candidates include undergraduate and graduate students with a background in the arts and/or education, as well as a commitment to working with young people.

Thank you to Isaac Rene from Northern Arizona State for interning with the YASD staff, full time, for the entire month of October, 2006. Isaac will be graduating in December with majors in Finance and Non Profit Administration. In the near future you will see him at Ernst & Young as an Information Technology Auditor.

UCSD - Human Development Program
Undergraduates observe Teaching Artists and their students in the field and develop research topics to investigate. Previous research topics include: How do YASD arts classes affect students creative development, social skills, and helping students stay on-task?
SDSU - Dance Mentorship Program
Undergraduate students in dance apprentice alongside a Master Dance Teaching Artist to learn how to develop and implement a dance residency program.
SDSU MBA Program
Past graduate students have developed research topics to help with YASD's strategic development in planning and marketing.
Crawford High School
High School students earn community service credit and learn business and workplace skills through helping with YASD's administrative and program tasks. |
