In-Office Volunteers
Help YASD staff with administrative duties such as marketing, PR, technology, arts advocacy, research, mailings and more.

Volunteer at a Final Performance or Art Showcase
Many of our schools end their arts experience in a final evening performance or arts showcase for parents and community members. This is a great opportunity to see how valuable the Young Audiences arts experience is for each child and to support the great work that our Teaching Artists do.
Volunteers duties include:
- Passing out Young Audiences' flyers
- Setting up and cleaning the performance space
- Prepping students for the performance
- Managing students during the performance
- Taking pictures of, or filming the performance
- Supporting the student performers with positive feedback and your presence
Volunteer at our Free Family Arts Nights
Once a month Young Audiences presents a Free Family Arts Night at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in the Rolando Area. These events incorporate a professional artist performance and a hands-on arts activity. The event is multi-generational and free for everyone.
Volunteer duties include:
- Passing out Young Audiences' flyers
- Setting up and cleaning the performance and art space
- Taking pictures of, or filming the event
- Helping manage art supplies and activities
- Assisting the Family Arts Night Director or Teaching Artist
Volunteer at a Young Audiences' Field Trip
Help the Young Audiences staff by guiding students to their seats and ushering at a Young Audiences' Field Trip Performance. Not only will you get to experience the positive impact that our performance programs have on students, but you will also get to experience the performance program for free!
YASD Special Events
Young Audiences needs your help to advocate for arts education and have a presence in the community. Find out how you can help with special events such as the Young Audiences' Garden Party, Summer Salsa Fundraiser, Art Fairs, and other community events.
Serve on a YASD Committee
Program Committee:
The Program Committee auditions new programs, reviews current programs and trains auditors to review assembly and residency programs. The Program Committee members must attend an orientation session at the beginning of each school year.
During the school year, auditors attend in-school and after-school programs and submit written reports summarizing their own review of the program and observed reactions of participating students.
Qualifications: Strong background in education. Must be available to review programs during school hours. May work frequently or on an occasional basis, as their schedules permit.
